Visit to Loreto Milford, September 2013
This September, Loreto Community School hosted teachers and students from Belgium, Spain, Germany and Lithuania as part of the European Comenius exchange programme. The students were hosted by families of Loreto students. The aims of Comenius are to promote communication and training between European teachers, promote the learning and use of foreign languages and intercultural exchange amongst students.
Over the next two years, students at Loreto Community School will enjoy the opportunity to avail of EU-funded trips to the partner countries involved in the exchange.
The group enjoyed an interesting visit to the Milford region including visits to classes in the school, a tour of the Fanad region, a guided tour of the Walls of Derry and a concert of traditional music by the students of Loreto.
A special thanks to the students and their families who participated in the exchange and Ms. Regina Dennehy and Ms. Lisa Fitzsimons for their work in organising the exchange.
